MECHANIC CAP made using the sashiko fabric of JAPAN VINTAGE, which is finely stabbed with indigo-dyed cotton thread.
Sashiko is a handicraft technique that has been handed down in Japan for a long time, and it is said that it started with sashiko on clothing to reinforce damaged cloth and protect against the cold. The fabric on the table is the stray clothes that were worn over 100 years ago in Akita. Two layers of cotton fabric are layered and hand-sewn with indigo-dyed thread to make fine sashiko.
The surface of this sashiko is lightly stabbed so that the threads can be seen, and it seems that you can feel the desire of the sushi to make the surface inconspicuous and not cracked. It is not just hand-sewn, but is sewn by a reliable technique, and the force is exquisite and there are things that can only be done by human hands.
The sashiko thread is also finely stabbed with fine threads so that there are no gaps, and the expression is unique to the fabric stabbed with fine threads.
The indigo is also dyed quite deeply, so please wear it for a long time and enjoy the aging.
The cloth inside is a cocoon bag made of old Japanese cloth. It is a cotton fabric with a good taste.
At first glance, the cap is simple but feels like a strong vitality made to overcome the harsh winter in the Tohoku region.
