Only left in stock

This item is made using old Japanese indigo-dyed cotton cloth and is based on a French fisherman's smock.

The fabric used is a cotton indigo-dyed plaid kimono that was woven and worn from the Taisho period to the early Showa period.

It is a hand-woven, hand-woven cotton fabric, and each thread is thicker, and the hand-woven fabric has a unique and indescribable look, and is very soft.

In areas where separate fabric is used (front, cuff endpapers), indigo-dyed old silk fabric is used.

The waist strap is also made from old cloth. Please do not pull it too tightly, just tie it lightly.

The buttons used on the body are French antique papier mache buttons made by compressing paper and hardening it with glue, and the cuffs are French wood buttons.
Papier mache was originally created with Japonism in mind in the West, with Japanese lacquerware in mind.
Even though more than 100 years have passed, I find it interesting that papier mache buttons are attached to clothes made from old Japanese cloth.

Cotton thread is used to match the vintage atmosphere.

Japanese old cloth tends to have a strong image of Japanese clothing, but when you look at the fabric without being bound by that stereotype, you will see that it is a fine fabric that has been carefully crafted by people and can be proud of to the world.

Why not try incorporating good old things into your daily life that are not found in modern times?

*This piece was sewn using an old treadle sewing machine. You might not be able to tell at first glance, but we hope you enjoy the loose seams that are produced by hand rather than electric power.

*This is a fabric that is over 100 years old. In order to enjoy it for a long time to come, please soak it in the wash before washing, and spin it gently by placing it in a net for dehydration.
