JAPAN VINTAGE FABRIC CAP ~type mechanic~60 Nanbu hemp

This is a MECHANIC CAP made from old Japanese indigo-dyed hemp fabric.

The fabric used is an old indigo-dyed linen cloth woven from the Meiji to Taisho periods. Because cotton could not be grown in the Tohoku region, hemp (hemp) cloth was widely distributed. The definition of Nanbu hemp is not certain, but it is defined as hemp fabric made from cannabis found in Iwate Prefecture.

It has a unique texture with the sway and movement that only hemp can provide, and the fabric woven with thick threads has a heavy feel. Compared to today's prosperous times, people were poor and that was all they had, and the world was completely different from what was expected of them. I feel it.

The fabric used for the lining, the sliding tape (inside tape), and the piping tape are all made from old Japanese cloth, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it will look as it ages.

Japanese old cloth tends to have a strong image of Japanese clothing, but when you look at the fabric without being bound by that stereotype, you can see that it is a fine fabric that has been hand-crafted and that can be proud to the world.
