This is a SAILOR HAT made from old Japanese indigo-dyed hemp fabric.

The fabric used is an old indigo-dyed linen cloth woven during the Meiji to Taisho periods. Because cotton could not be grown in the Tohoku region, hemp (hemp) cloth was widely distributed. The definition of Nanbu hemp is not certain, but it is defined as hemp fabric made from cannabis found in Iwate Prefecture.

The fabric has a unique swaying and moving feel that is unique to linen, and the fabric is woven with thick threads, creating a profound atmosphere. Compared to today's prosperous times, people were poor and that was all they had, and the world was completely different from what was expected of them. I feel it.

The fabric used for the lining, the sliding tape (inner tape), and the piping tape are all made from old Japanese cloth, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it will look as it ages.

Japanese old cloth tends to have a strong image of Japanese clothing, but when you look at the fabric without being bound by that stereotype, you will see that it is a fine fabric that has been carefully crafted by people and can be proud of to the world.

Try incorporating good old things into your daily life that don't exist in modern times.

*The design is based on the U.S. Navy's sailor hat, so the brim has fine stitching just like the hats of the time. Enjoy the look of finely detailed stitching.

*The fabric is made nearly 100 years ago. In order to enjoy it for a long time to come, please soak it in the wash before washing, and spin it gently by placing it in a net for dehydration.

Size: Head circumference approx. 60.5~61cm
