Regardless of the country, this work was created using Japanese rags, with the image of work jackets that would have been made in the olden days, before mass production processes were created, when various things had not yet developed. is.

BORO refers to used cloth, worn and torn clothing, or clothing full of patches. Sashiko is a handicraft technique that has been passed down in Japan since ancient times, and is used to strengthen damaged cloth and protect it from the cold. It is said that it began with sashiko stitching on clothing for the sake of people.

They are used in people's daily lives, washed, cloth is applied to strengthen damaged areas, and sashiko is applied to create a BORO that has a nice atmosphere.

The texture of the fabric is soft, and compared to the modern era of abundance, people were poor and that was all they had, and the world was completely different. The expression of the fabric was created in a time when you couldn't make it even if you wanted to. You can feel the unique atmosphere that can only be found here.

The BORO used for the front is a Meiji to Taisho boro, originally a large furoshiki. To repair the holes, many indigo-dyed cotton cloths were sewn and stitched together.

The parts that were sewn with cotton thread at the time are used as they are, but the design is not copied by looking at it; the way the thread runs by hand and the condition of the patch are random, creating a unique and natural look. Exudes.

The lining is also made from old Japanese cotton cloth. It is a soft and smooth cotton fabric.

The buttons are French antique papier mache buttons made by compressing paper and hardening it with glue.
Papier mache was originally created with Japonism in mind in the West, with Japanese lacquerware in mind.
Even though more than 100 years have passed, I find it interesting that papier mache buttons are attached to jackets made from old Japanese cloth.

In addition, vintage shell buttons are used for the power buttons, and each one is attached by hand with a neck wrap. The buttonholes and button closures are hand-sewn to match the feel of the old fabric. I think you can feel something like warmth that cannot be produced by a machine.

Cotton thread is used to match the vintage atmosphere.

You can't get exactly the same fabric, and even if you did, you wouldn't be able to make the same thing twice. I feel that each piece of cloth is hand-sewn and applied one stitch at a time, giving it a truly rich expression.

Please enjoy this one-of-a-kind jacket.

*The fabric is made nearly 100 years ago. In order to enjoy it for a long time to come, please soak it in the wash before washing, and spin it gently by placing it in a net for dehydration.
