The\u003c\/span\u003e \u003cspan\u003esubtle brown threads add a nice accent, creating a deep look.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe sleeves are made of wool gabardine, a fabric originally used for coats, giving it a thick, stately feel.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBoth coats were found in the homes of former wealthy merchants, and were custom-made in an era when ready-made coats were not available. \u003cspan\u003eIt is understandable why this fabric is not often seen used for tobi coats.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt first glance, it may look like a fabric that is still being woven in modern times, but the atmosphere that exudes from it is unique to \u003cspan\u003esomething so ancient, giving it a special presence.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt is fully lined and the lining is made from the same fabric as the coat, and the collar strap is also made from brass, which is probably what was used for the coat.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe buttons are old Japanese wooden buttons dyed with ink\u003c\/span\u003e \u003cspan\u003e, and\u003c\/span\u003e \u003cspan\u003ethe power buttons are shell buttons, each attached by hand with a root wrap. The buttonholes and bar closures are hand-sewn to match the atmosphere of the old fabric.
