NORA BAG~type newspaper~japan old indigo fabric
Based on the bag used by the newspaper deliveryman, this is a news paper bag made using JAPAN VINTAGE cotton lattice (check) old cloth.
The fabric used is an old cloth that was woven and used in the Taisho to early Showa period. At that time, the cloth was used to wrap things such as furoshiki, and because it was used in daily life, it has become soft and has a good texture.
The lattice pattern also has a dark indigo color and a slightly subdued indigo color atmosphere, creating a deep and indescribably rich expression.
The lining is Japanese indigo-dyed old cloth from the early Showa era. The fabric is made with two colors of indigo in the same way as the atmosphere of the front. I used the part that was repaired at the time and grew up in a good atmosphere. You can't see it, but please enjoy the atmosphere of old cloth with the whole bag.
The buttons used French vintage animal buttons. Even just one button has a strong presence. The power button is also a vintage milk glass button.
The buttonholes are hand-stitched and the lining is hand-stitched to match the old fabric. I would like you to see it as a specification that matches the old fabric and enjoy the atmosphere.
It is a simple design with only the button used to close the attached part without adjusting the length of the shoulder belt.
Please try to incorporate the good old things that are not in modern times into your daily life.
*This work is sewn entirely with an old treadle sewing machine. You may not understand it at first glance, but I hope you will enjoy the "fluctuation" of the seams that can only be produced by human power rather than by electric power.
