This bag was created using old Japanese hemp cloth, with the design source being a bag used by postal workers.

The fabric used is hemp cloth woven from the Meiji to Taisho periods. Since it is a fabric found in cloth, it still has a sense of tension and is in good condition, and its loosely woven appearance creates a unique atmosphere of the era in which it was created, something that cannot be found in modern times.

In order to take advantage of the texture of the outer material, the lining is made of old linen cloth, and all other small parts are also made of linen cloth.

The buttons on the flap and the small pocket that attaches when the flap is opened are old Japanese wood buttons dyed with ink, and the inside pockets are old shell buttons.

The buttonholes and button closures are hand-sewn to match the feel of the old fabric. I think you can feel something like warmth that cannot be produced by a machine.

The shoulder belt is designed to be fastened by passing it through a hole and tying it. You can adjust it to your desired length by tying the knot.

The expressions of the cloth that were created in a harsh time when people were poor and had nothing else to live for compared to today's prosperous times, when the world was completely different from what they expected today, have a unique atmosphere that can only be found in those times.

*This work was sewn using an old treadle sewing machine. You might not be able to tell at first glance, but we hope you enjoy the loose seams that are produced by hand rather than electric power.

*The fabric is made nearly 100 years ago. In order to enjoy it for a long time to come, please soak it in the wash before washing, and spin it gently by placing it in a net for dehydration.
