NORA COAT ~ Japan vintage indigo ~

This work was made using Japanese indigo dyed old cloth, using the 1946 Japanese National Railways jacket as a design base with a longer length and adopting the specifications found in old French workwear.

It is a Japanese National Railways jacket based on the shape, but since it is a raglan sleeve, the shoulder line will fall off nicely. The width of the body is widened to the hem, and it is the first place to have an A-line silhouette that spreads to the hem. From there, the length was lengthened, and the pockets, waist belt, collar shape, cuff tab specifications, etc. were finished with French design. Since the armhole is wide, it is comfortable to wear around the arm and fits well, so you can wear it from above.

The fabric used is indigo dyed old cloth that was woven and used from the Taisho era to the early Showa era. When it comes to coats, the amount of fabric used increases, so we select and use two pieces of old cloth that do not feel strange when matched to the body and sleeves. Both have grown into fabrics with a very good look due to aging over a long period of nearly 100 years.

It is a good fabric that feels soft and has a cotton texture.

Please feel the texture of the fabric, which cannot be produced by processing.

The buttons are French vintage wood buttons, and the power buttons are also vintage glass buttons, and each one is hand-wound.

Buttonholes and can stoppers are hand-sewn to match the atmosphere of old fabrics. You can feel the warmth that machines can't put out.

The thread uses cotton thread to match the old fabric.

You can't get the exact same fabric, and even if it does, you can never make the same fabric again.

* This work is all sewn with an old foot-operated sewing machine. At first glance, you may not understand it, but I hope you enjoy the "fluctuation" -like seams that come out because of human power rather than electric power.

* The fabric is nearly 100 years old. In order to enjoy it for a long time, please wash it with a soak and spin it lightly by putting it in the net for dehydration.
