Regardless of the country, various things have not yet developed, and I imagined a work jacket that was made in the old days before the mass production process was born, and I made it using Japanese boro. is.

This jacket has a simple design with only waist pockets. The body and sleeves are finished in such a way that it follows the body line, so even a work jacket has the impression of a classic jacket.

BORO (boro) refers to the cloth used for worn-out, torn or patched clothing. It is said that sashiko was the beginning of this process.

It has been used in people's daily lives for more than 100 years. It has been washed and used for generations to reinforce damaged areas and protect against the cold. I grew up in BORO. The texture of the fabric is soft, and it has a gentle atmosphere because it has been living for a long time.

The BORO used for the front was originally used as a futon or a rug. I didn't know what kind of cloth was inside, but when I unwrapped it and found another rag, I couldn't help but scream. I used two pieces of rags that I found for some reason, and finished it as a single jacket. Various old cloths are sewn by hand, but they have an expression of that era that cannot be reliably produced in modern times.

There is no doubt that there is an indescribable and captivating atmosphere to the point where the specific details are irrelevant.

The lining is also made of old Japanese cotton cloth. The fabric is loosely and coarsely woven, so it is soft, and the softness of the boro fabric on the outer surface is used as it is.

The button is a French antique papier mache button made by compressing paper and hardening it with glue.
This papier-mâché was originally made with Japanese lacquerware in mind as part of the Japonism that was popular in the West.
More than 100 years later, I find it interesting that papier mache buttons are attached to jackets made from Japanese boro.

Vintage ciel buttons are used for the power buttons, and each one is attached with a hand-wrapped neck wrap. Buttonholes and clasps are hand-sewn to match the atmosphere of old fabrics. I think that you can feel something like warmth that cannot be produced by machines.

Cotton thread is used to match the vintage atmosphere.

You can't get the exact same fabric, and even if you do, you can't make the same thing twice. I feel that the cloth that is sewn by hand stitch by stitch gives a truly rich expression to each piece.
