The fabric was originally used as a furoshiki to wrap things, but it was unraveled and made into a jacket. The period is from the Meiji to Taisho eras, and the parts that were actually used and repaired are kept as they are.

Because cotton could not be grown in the Tohoku region, hemp (hemp) cloth was widely distributed. The definition of Nanbu hemp is not certain, but if it is a linen cloth made from cannabis found in Iwate Prefecture, I think this linen cloth would also be classified as Nanbu hemp.

It has a unique texture with the swaying movement that only hemp can provide, and the fabric woven with thick threads has a heavy feel, and the texture that feels like it's falling under the weight of the fabric is something special.

In order to take advantage of the texture of the outer material, the lining is made of old linen cloth, and all other small parts are also made of linen cloth.

The buttons are vintage French wood buttons, and the power buttons are vintage ciel buttons, and each one is attached by hand with a neck wrap. The buttonholes and button closures are hand-sewn to match the feel of the old fabric. I think you can feel something like warmth that cannot be produced by a machine.

Cotton thread is used to match the vintage atmosphere.

Compared to today's prosperous times, people were poor and that was all they had, and the world was completely different from what was expected of them. I feel it.

You can't get exactly the same fabric, and even if you did, you wouldn't be able to make the same thing twice.

*This piece was sewn using an old treadle sewing machine. You might not be able to tell at first glance, but we hope you enjoy the ``fluctuation''-like seams that are produced by hand rather than electric power.

*This is a fabric that is over 100 years old. In order to enjoy it for a long time to come, please soak it in the wash before washing, and spin it gently by placing it in a net for dehydration.
