The design is based on a Japanese shirt from the early 1900s, and is made using old Japanese linen cloth.

The shirt the design is based on is from CHOYA SHIRT, a long-established shirt brand founded in 1887, and the shirt the design is based on is one from the early 1900s. The design on the front, the cut of the hem, and the fine gathers in the center of the back make it a very nice design.

The fabric used is an indigo-dyed linen plaid kimono that was woven and worn during the Meiji to Taisho periods. (It is a little more transparent and thinner than the fabric of the shirt ⓶.)

It has a unique texture with the sway and movement that only hemp can provide.The fabric is woven with thin threads and at first glance it looks light, but it has a nice, sturdy look. There is something special about the texture of the fabric, as if it were falling under the weight of the fabric .

When making a shirt, the sleeves are hand-sewn as an afterthought, and the buttonholes are also hand-sewn. It may be a little more comfortable to wear and the buttons may not fit, but I would like you to see it as a specification that matches the old fabric and enjoy the atmosphere.

The buttons are also attached with a bird's foot attachment. By shifting the center of gravity, one side floats, making it easier to attach.This is a meaningful way to attach it, but please enjoy it as one of the small points that we paid attention to.

The buttons are vintage French shell buttons. Due to aging, each piece has a different appearance.

Cotton thread is used to match the old fabric.

Japanese old cloth tends to have a strong image of Japanese clothing, but when you look at the fabric without being bound by that stereotype, you realize that Japanese fabric is a quality fabric that can be proud of to the world and is made by people.

*This piece was sewn using an old treadle sewing machine. You might not be able to tell at first glance, but we hope you enjoy the loose seams that are produced by hand rather than electric power.

*This is a fabric that is over 100 years old. In order to enjoy it for a long time to come, please soak it in the wash before washing, and spin it gently by placing it in a net for dehydration.
