Using a French fisherman's smock as the design source, this piece is filled with details that I like, and is created using old Japanese linen cloth, imagining the somewhat loose feel of an old item.

The fabric is a linen plaid kimono that was worn around the Meiji to Taisho periods.

It has a unique texture with the sway and movement that only linen can provide, and the fabric is woven with thin threads, making it a little see-through and at first glance it looks light, but it has a nice look with the original atmosphere of the fabric. There is something special about the texture of the fabric, as if it were falling under the weight of the fabric.

In order to take advantage of the feel of linen fabric, we use old linen cloth in all areas where separate fabric is used.

The waist strap is also made from old linen cloth. Please don't pull it too hard, just tie it lightly.

The buttons are made from old Japanese wood buttons dyed with ink , and each one is attached by hand with a root wrap. The buttonholes and button closures are hand-sewn to match the feel of the old fabric. I think you can feel something like warmth that cannot be produced by a machine.

Cotton thread is used to match the vintage atmosphere.

Compared to today's prosperous times, the fabrics that were born in harsh times when people were poor and had nothing else but the world was completely different, have a unique atmosphere that can only be created at that time even if you wanted to, and I think that Japanese fabrics are wonderful fabrics that are made by people and can be proud of to the world. Please feel the fabric that has been reborn as clothes .

*This piece was sewn using an old treadle sewing machine. You might not be able to tell at first glance, but we hope you enjoy the loose seams that are produced by hand rather than electric power.

*This is a fabric that is over 100 years old. In order to enjoy it for a long time to come, please soak it in the wash before washing, and spin it gently by placing it in a net for dehydration.
