These pants are made using old Japanese indigo-dyed cloth.
The fabric is a kimono that was woven during the Meiji to Taisho periods.
It is woven using indigo-dyed cotton thread for the warp and heathered thread made by twisting indigo and white cotton thread for the weft. It's probably an indigo-dyed sesame-salt fabric, but the white thread is not too overpowering, giving it a unique look. The fabric feels soft and chewy like cotton.
The front button and back pocket are made of old French wood buttons, and the top button is made of antique French papier mache buttons made by compressing paper and hardening it with glue, and each one is attached by hand with a root wrap. Masu.
The buckle is also made from an old French item. The buttonholes and button closures are hand-sewn to match the feel of the old fabric. I think you can feel something like warmth that cannot be produced by a machine.
Cotton thread is used to match the vintage atmosphere.
Compared to today's prosperous times, people were poor and that was all they had, and the world was completely different from what was expected of them. I feel that Japanese fabrics are wonderful fabrics made by people that can be proud of around the world. Please feel the fabric that has been reborn as pants .
Why not incorporate good old things into your daily life that are not found in modern times?
*This work was sewn using an old treadle sewing machine. You might not be able to tell at first glance, but we hope you enjoy the loose seams that are produced by hand rather than electric power.
*This is a fabric that is over 100 years old. In order to enjoy it for a long time to come, please soak it in the wash before washing, and spin it gently by placing it in a net for dehydration.
