NORA SHORT JACKET~japan old indigo fabricc~

Based on the design of short Japanese jackets that were commonly worn in post-war Japan in the 1950s, this work was created using old Japanese indigo-dyed lattice fabric.

The fabric used is an old indigo-dyed lattice cloth that was woven and used around the Meiji and Taisho periods. The lattice pattern, which is made of two shades of indigo and three colors of white, creates a good atmosphere together with the texture of the old-fashioned fabric.

The overall pattern has been repaired, such as the patch cloth from the top and the part where the pattern is matched with the same cloth from the back. Since it has been aged, it has a natural texture without being artificial.

I think that Japanese fabrics are world-class and have a good texture with elaborate expressions, so please try to feel the fabric that has been reborn as a jacket.

The button is a French vintage bone (bone) button. At first glance, it looks like wood, but no chemical dyes are used, and natural dyes are used over and over until the color is just right. Please enjoy the buttons with different expressions one by one. In addition, vintage glass buttons are used for the power buttons, and each one is attached with a hand-wrapped neck. Buttonholes and clasps are hand-sewn to match the atmosphere of old fabrics. I think that you can feel something like warmth that cannot be produced by machines.

You can't get the exact same fabric, and even if you do, you can't make the same thing twice. I feel that the cloth that is sewn by hand stitch by stitch gives a truly rich expression to each piece.

*This work is sewn entirely with an old treadle sewing machine. You may not understand it at first glance, but I hope you will enjoy the "fluctuation" of the seams that can only be produced by human power rather than by electric power.

*It will be the fabric of nearly 100 years ago. In order to enjoy it for a long time, please wash it after soaking it, and put it in a net for dehydration and turn it lightly.
