These pants are made using old Japanese cotton and linen lattice cloth.
The fabric is a kimono made from the Meiji to Taisho eras, indigo-dyed threads made from hemp (hemp) and white threads made from cotton threads, woven in a checkered pattern.
Although it contains cotton, the fabric is woven with thick threads and has a slightly loose texture, giving it a unique feel that is not found in modern times. The slightly sheer fabric has good breathability, making it comfortable to wear during spring and summer. Only the undercarriage area is covered with old indigo-dyed linen cloth to prevent it from being see-through and to strengthen it.
Old French wood buttons are used for the front button, top button, and back pocket, and each one is attached by hand with a root wrap.
The buckle is an old Japanese one. The buttonholes and button closures are hand-sewn to match the feel of the old fabric. I think you can feel something like warmth that cannot be produced by a machine.
Cotton thread is used to match the vintage atmosphere.
Compared to today's prosperous times, people were poor and that was all they had, and the world was completely different from what was expected of them. I feel that Japanese fabrics are wonderful fabrics made by people that can be proud of around the world. Please feel the fabric that has been reborn as pants .
Why not incorporate good old things into your daily life that are not found in modern times?
*This work was sewn using an old treadle sewing machine. You might not be able to tell at first glance, but we hope you enjoy the loose seams that are produced by hand rather than electric power.
*The fabric is over 100 years old. In order to enjoy it for a long time to come, please soak it in the wash before washing, and spin it gently by placing it in a net for dehydration.
Please feel free to contact noraadd.1118@gmail.com for any inquiries regarding the work .
