These pants are made using old Japanese cotton fabric.

The fabric used was a cotton fabric that was dyed black around the early Showa period, and its intended use is unknown, but it is a fabric that was dyed black at the time. It is a fabric with just the right thickness and a slightly firm texture, and the wrinkled areas have turned white, giving it a cracked appearance. The texture is just right, and it creates a natural, very nice look and atmosphere. The color is not jet black, but rather an inky black, with a nice worn-in look that changes with time.

The fabric is just the right thickness, so I think you can wear it all year round by adjusting the inside in winter.

The front, back pocket and top buttons are made from old Japanese wooden buttons dyed in ink, and each button is attached by hand with a root wrap.

The needle buckles are made from old Japanese materials. The buttonholes and bar closures are hand-sewn to match the feel of the old fabric. You can feel the warmth that cannot be achieved by machine.

Cotton thread is used to match the vintage atmosphere.

Compared to today's affluent times, the texture of fabrics born in times of poverty, when there was nothing else to be had and the norms of the world were completely different, evokes a unique atmosphere that could not be created even if one wanted to, and I believe that Japanese fabrics are exquisite, elaborate fabrics that can be proudly presented to the world. Please try and feel the fabric that has been reborn as pants.

*This piece was sewn using an old treadle sewing machine. You might not notice it at first glance, but I hope you enjoy the loose stitches that can only be achieved by hand, not by electricity.

*The fabric is over 100 years old. To ensure you can enjoy it for many years to come, please wash it by soaking it in water and spin it gently in a laundry net.
